Fuel surcharge
Follow the evolution of the diesel tax applied by GLS France month by month
GLS applies a diesel surcharge linked to rising fuel prices. These increases have a significant impact on transport prices and therefore on the cost of parcel delivery.
The basis used by GLS France to calculate this surcharge corresponds to the CNR Professional Diesel Index for vehicles under 7.5 tonnes for the previous month (for example, for August, the reference month is July), as published by the Comité National Routier (CNR).
As soon as the CNR publishes the data for the previous month, GLS determines the diesel surcharge for the current month. It is shown separately on invoices, ensuring full transparency.
Following the conflict in the Middle East, the CNR adopted an exceptional measure and published an index for the first half of March 2026.
To address rising fuel costs, GLS will calculate the diesel surcharge for March 2026 based on an average index composed of the February 2026 index (201.41) and the index for the first half of March 2026 (242.60).
The diesel surcharge for March 2026 is set at 25.90%.
